Raleigh For President!
If you're going to vote for a dog, you might as well vote for a real one!

Raleigh Bear McGowan was born on December 20, 2001 and became a stray on the streets of Houston before he was picked up and carried to the Houston Humane Society where he was discovered by Sam and Ronda McGowan on Valentines Day, 2002 and adopted. In 2005 he went to Chicago to be with his mistress who was there taking care of her terminally ill mother. While in Chicago he became acquainted with Chicago politics and when Barack Obama became the Democratic nominee for the 2008 election, Raleigh came out in opposition to him and ran against him knowing that a dog would be better off in the White House than a product of Chicago Mob politics. History has proven him right.

Since the election Raleigh has devoted himself to improving the welfare of animals, particularly the unwanted and stray dogs and cats that fill the animal shelters around the land. His goal is for every dog and every cat that wants one to have a home. Now, as the country is once again preparing to elect a new president, Raleigh is weighing his options and deciding whether to enter the race. There is one thing for certain, if Mitt Romney or "The Newt" Gingrich is the Republican nominee, Raleigh WILL run again! The White House is no place for a man who carries his dog on the roof of his car or one who's favorite animals are reptiles.

The day that Raleigh was brought home from the pound he was eager to demonstrate to his new family just how happy he was. He ran toward his new "daddy" with his purple-tinged tongue out in the "attack of the licky-dog."

When Raleigh came home, he was greeted by Tiger Kitty, who would become his best friend and later running mate on the 2008 Presidential ticket. Tiger is again running for Vice-President.

He supports the Houston Humane Society and is grateful to them for helping him find his furever home.

Raleigh is very grateful to Houstonian Deborah Huffman for founding the Corridor Rescue organization to rescue unwanted dogs that have been left to starve in this notorious dumping ground in Houston.

Raleigh is a big believer in Save A Dog, whose motto is "saving one dog at a time." They also sponsor Save A Cat.

Raleigh promises that if he is elected, he'll make sure that "the bums" are thrown out of Washington. In fact, he is considering moving the capitol to Texas or the Midwest.
